Project: Supporting the Manufacturing Supply Chain
The West of Scotland is still the nation’s main base of manufacturing in terms of numbers employed and in terms of the volume of goods shipped OUT of the country, and has the largest requirement for transport capacity.
The project was established with the aim of providing support to 550 employees in the attainment of new logistics skills that help the manufacturing sector distribute its product.
Support could take the form of any skills that enable manufacturers to become more efficient and profitable — to date beneficiaries have been trained in;
- Cat C
- Cat C+E
- ADR
- Fork Lift Licences (either reach or counter balance)
- Master Drivers
This is not an exhaustive list of options and project staff will consider any request from any eligible applicant.
The project has been a major test for partners and the partnership has remained flexible to accommodate.
We gratefully appreciate support from our partners Skills for Logistics, Awards UK, Road Haulage Association and several training providers.
