Project: Rural Exclusion Dumfries and Galloway
One of the major areas of difficulty for Transport Training Trust is in linking jobs vacancies with unemployed people willing to train for these opportunities.
Nowhere is it more pronounced than in Dumfries and Galloway, an area which supports one of Scotlands few ferry ports, a multi freight link with mainland Europe and a (the) major Scottish arterial route for road freight.
self employment opportunities — more significantly, all beneficiaries self selected their new career options, project staff had no brief to insist on beneficiaries attending interview with any particular prospective employer. Skills included are;
